Social democratic representatives of the regional counsel and of the VRS (transport association Rhine-Sieg) took a ride on the Wiehltalbahn
Upon invitation of the Wiehltalbahn preservation society and the Rhein-Sieg-Railway (RSE) the social democratic parliamentary groups of the District Council Cologne and of the transport association Rhine-Sieg (VRS) visited our line on Friday, March 16th, 2012.
Waldbröl town council: Wiehltalbahn to be incorporated into short distance traffic schedule
With vast majority the Waldbröl town council decided in its session on 15th February, 2012, on behalf of an application of the Social Democratic Party and of the Green Party to arrange for the Wiehltalbahn to be used for local traffic again.
Multiple railcar unit visits the Wiehl valley
On 25th February, 2012, a quadripartite, fully occupied multiple unit went on its way from Linz (Rhine) to the Berg county.
Track construction crew worked 4,721 hours on the track in 2011
A new record performance: Last year 38 volunteers from the Wiehltalbahn Preservation Society worked for 4,721 hours on the track and on the rolling stock, as our crew supervisor Uwe Wintersohl reports.

Re-instatement of platform 1 at Wiehl Stn.
No train has run to platform 1 at Wiehl Station since 1995. The condition of the sleepers was too bad for it to be used at the reopening in 1999. Now active members of the Dieringhausen Railway Museum have started to rebuild it with the help of the Wiehltalbahn construction crew - especially for the steam trains of the "Bergischer Löwe".

An entry signal has been installed on the historical site - reason enough to take a look at the history.

Our bridge construction crew applied 15 Tons of sealing material to the concrete span of the Denklingen railway bridge and its inner walls. Now the bridge is sealed.
