New illustrated book released
A new illustrated book by Klaus Strack and Horst Kowalski (published by Martina-Galunder-Verlag, German only) shows what was going on on the Wiehltalbahn in the course of (the) recent years and decades. On 96 pages Horst Kowalski shows photos from the ‘70s and ‘80s of the last century: Bank holiday daytrippers came with a special train and even the legendary Trans-Europ-Express visited Waldbröl and Morsbach! Horst Kowalski even experienced regular steam trains and shows pictures from that period.
Klaus Strack has illustrated the modern era of the Wiehltalbahn with help from Horst Kowalski. We active Wiehltalbahn railfans have already said to some photographers who were baffled by the unorthodox trainsets: “Take a snapshot of it - in a few years from now everyone will be amazed what travelled on our track!”
And that's the way it is!
The book "The Wiehltalbahn - a ramble in colour from the seventies up to the present" has 96 pages, costs €19,99 (p.& p. extra) and is available at bookstores (e.g. on Köln Hbf) as well as on our trains.
