Railway history told in a different way

In this book about the Wiehltalbahn the focus is not on the history of the railway line in the first place, but on the linkage to the economic landscape developed by it. The authors walked along the track and discovered the multiple relationships of the Wiehltalbahn with the economy in the Wiehl valley and its side valleys and what's left of it today. Main focus with regard to the Wiehltalbahn is on the multiple greywacke quarries that delivered the most impoortant bulk cargo for the freight traffic and would have been unimaginable without the railway. The up to now hardly explored history of the quarrying for greywacke in the Wiehl valley is illustrated with hardly known photo documents.
