Funding

From the start the planning phase of the reconstruction works has been in partnership with the "Landschaftsverband Rheinland - Amt für Denkmalpflege im Rheinland (Regional Authority Rhineland - department for preservation of monuments)" - and the District Council of Cologne as a subordinated authority for monument protection. This will continue during the works.

The costs of the entire programme will be roughly €274,000.The ministry of trade, energy, building, habitation and traffic of the federal state of NorthRhine-Westphalia (NRW) will finance a major part of the works from their monument support programme. The instructions to proceed with the first section of the work are in hand.

We as preservation society will fund the rest - most of it in the form of manpower. Furthermore we have budgeted to raise €55,000 ourselves. On 30th.October 2011 the actual amount of donations was €15,020.16 - a good figure, but not enough by far.

You can also support the reconstruction of the Denklingen railway bridge - by a donation!

For a donation of €50 or more you get an 1.year ticket for the Wiehltalbahn for free, for a donation of €100 or more you will be passenger aboard  the opening train across the reconstructed bridge. Individuals and companies donating more than €1,500 will be mentioned on a plate at the bridge. We will gladly issue a donation receipt, if desired.

Important note:

We are pleased to receive your donation and will gladly issue a contribution receipt for you.
