It was done just in time for the end of the year: The repair of the Bielstein railway bridge (bridge structure 2264 - "Zunft-Brücke"), which was severely damaged by arson in the summer of 2020, is largely complete!

On Monday, August 16th, 2021, steam locomotive 'Waldbröl' was used at Osberghausen station in a much-noticed and much-photographed operation.

Early on Monday morning, April 26th, 2021, around 06:00 a.m., the loading of freight wagons with Oberberg 'beetle wood' began in Engelskirchen-Osberghausen.

At Osberghausen, track construction works for the renovation of the station track installations have now begun. By this, the 'society for the preservation of the Wiehl valley railway' wants to allow for the removal of the so called 'pine beetle wood' from the upper Berg county.

Our renewed attempt to reactivate the Wiehl Valley Railway (Wiehltalbahn) for regular local rail transport, which we started with our anniversary event in October 2019, significantly picked up pace in 2020.
